Most of the time, we postpone the visit to the dentist for various reasons, such as lack of time, finances or due to other urgent problems. Thus, oral health can deteriorate if we do not have proper hygiene in the first place and do not address dental problems at an early stage. It should be noted that it is necessary to carry out at least one dental check-up per year. In certain situations, even 2-3 per year are recommended.
A consultation, most of the time, lasts about 1 hour. It is a minimum time in which the dentist performs X-rays, CT scans, intraoral pictures of the patient, digital scans and tries to understand the wishes of the patient, from an aesthetic and functional point of view. Intraoral pictures are taken for diagnostic purposes, to explain and present the patient's conditions, and to communicate more easily between specialties. 2D radiographs help us to see localized or overall problems of a carious nature, the correctness of root canal treatments, adaptations of prosthetic works. With the help of CBCT type investigations (dental tomography) we visualize in 3D, in detail, the bone in which the implant will be inserted or reports of some teeth with important anatomical landmarks.
At the same time, all existing problems are medically explained to the patient, from simple caries, to the treatment of dentitions with implants, prosthetic works, as well as the time period required for the treatment. After collecting this data, the patient is drawn up a personalized treatment plan, staged, with the costs related to each
workmanship.
In some cases, where the clinical situation requires several dental specialties (surgery, orthodontics, endodontics, prosthetics), an interdisciplinary treatment plan is created, together with the other specialists, and the treatment plan will then be presented to the patient in another session.
